Protecting Your Accounts

Pershing LLC provides the highest level of account coverage available. Its unlimited account protection applies to the securities and cash awaiting reinvestment held in custody by Pershing for your account. Of this total, the Securities Investor Protection Corporation (SIPC) provides $500,000 of coverage, including $100,000 for claims for cash awaiting investment. Pershing provides the remaining coverage through a commercial insurer, Customer Asset Protection Company ("CAPCO"). The account protection applies when an SIPC member fails financially and is unable to meet obligations to securities clients. However, it does not protect against losses caused by the rise or fall in the market value of investments.
